Job Description

Taco Comfort Solutions, a 100 year old, third generation family-owned global company based in Cranston, RI is seeking a Project Manager to join their team.


The Project Manager is responsible for the planning, execution and tracking of specific short- and long-term projects. They will lead cross functional project teams to scope, plan, execute and debrief development projects to meet the organizational strategic objectives.

Measures of success:

  • Improved Processes Globally (mainly Global Task Management and integration with Portfolio Software)
  • Improved New Product Development (NPD) on time deliverables and group communication

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Define project scope in collaboration with senior management, then create a detailed work plan that identifies the sequences of activities required for successful project completion. This includes, but is not limited to, determining the resources, time and budget required; developing a schedule that effectively allocates resources; developing project metrics for objective evaluation of project success and revising plan as required based on input from senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Partner with appropriate Taco management to recruit, interview and select employees and/or consultants with appropriate skills for project activities and manage the chosen team accordingly.
  • Accountable for executing the project per the project plan, which includes documenting/archiving project activities in project management system; monitoring progress and adjusting to maintain the schedule and budget; regularly reviewing the quality of work completed by the team and communicating progress of the project with appropriate staff and stakeholders.
  • Oversee the preparation of & present gate documentation. Schedule and run weekly project team, pre-gate and other necessary meetings. Complete project management reports.
  • Ensure all financial records for the project are accurate and kept up to date. Monitor and approve all budgeted project expenditures and actual budget versus actual cash flow and report to senior management monthly.
  • Ensure the specified project deliverables were completed on time, on budget and at the target cost.
  • Conduct a thorough project team debrief and a lesson learned evaluation.
  • Assist the Legal Department in managing Intellectual Property including new patent filing and legacy patent administration.
  • Recruits, develops and coaches engineering and project management talent.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.


Required Skills

Required Experience


Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, operations management, or another related field (significant experience may be accepted in lieu of degree)
  • 3+ years of project management experience
  • Strong ability to transform strategic initiatives into tactical plans to achieve overall corporate objectives
  • Strong project planning and execution skills and the capability to provide team leadership.
  • A proven track record of establishing and achieving set objectives with specific metrics and timelines.
  • Ability to build and inspire a team, developing bench strength at all levels.
  • Demonstrated use of project management and product development systems.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in project management, operations management, or another related field.
  • 5+ years of project management experience, manufacturing industry strongly desired
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification from the Project Management Institute.

The Project Manager will work primarily in an office setting. At times, there may be exposure to the warehouse or lab settings where safety equipment or personal protective gear is required.
