Job Title: Project Manager II
Location: Coralville, IA ?*Mobile/Remote (On-Site/Work from Home Hybrid)*
The Project Manager II is accountable for the success of large strategic projects that are typically of moderate or high complexity and primarily cross two departments. They plan, execute and implement projects to deliver intended business outcomes, ideally on time, on budget and within scope according to business priorities. Throughout the lifecycle of the projects, the PM II ensures consistent, reliable, and transparent project execution which effectively and efficiently utilizes organization resources.
Essential Functions:
Implement "right-sized" project management processes that best fit the needs of the project and align with organization project methodology standards. Create project management artifacts as appropriate for large strategic projects of moderate or high complexity (example: project schedule, communication plan, resource plan, requirements, project charter) and represent project at governance meetings.
Build effective relationships and quickly earn the trust of key stakeholders with minimal mentoring.
With minimal supervision, manage all aspects of the project life cycle. Manage scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed on time, cost and quality. Monitor project spend and validate financial forecasts throughout the project lifecycle.
Connect project messaging and reporting to strategic business initiatives. Develop communication plans and interfaces to actively engage internal business partners, small team from external partner and individual members of executive leadership team. Ensure communication with PMO leadership and IDT leadership is proactive, professional and concise.
Continually identify, prioritize, mitigate, and communicate project risks. Relies on methodological risk management tools (example: risk worksheet) to identify risks.
Manage and communicate most high complexity changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs and communicate appropriately to stakeholders with moderate support from supervisor.
Manage project teams, driving motivation, collaboration and performance. Provide oversight and control of any external resources contracted to the project. Provides sufficient motivation to "get the job done" without major disruptions.
Ensure project results have an articulated scope and quantifiable business benefit. Holds self-accountable for overall project success and consistently seeks opportunities to exceed project goals.
Identify improvement opportunities and develop enhancements or new processes based on best practices. Coordinate with others in PMO and the organization to implement process changes
Works independently and requires minimal direct supervision. Mentors ePM and PM I colleagues. Proactively engages other project managers on topics where projects overlap.
Demonstrates behavior consistent with the Integrated DNA Technologies Core Values.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
Professional Experience:
Minimum of two years’ project management experience serving in the role as a project manager, required.
Minimum of five years’ work experience is required, with a high tech or biotech company is preferred.
General knowledge and experience in the use of project management and SDLC methodologies and tools (example: Agile, SCRUM, Waterfall, or Iterative) is required.
General understanding of process change, product development, manufacturing or software development is preferred.

With minimal supervisory direction, able to lead project teams through ambiguity, frequent change and effective decision making.
Leadership, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills in addition to facilitation and presentation skills. Effectively interact with various levels in the organization.
Must be professional, dedicated and detail-orientated.
Ability to perform under stress when confronted with emergent, critical, unusual, or dangerous situations, or situation in which working speed and sustained attention are make-or-break aspects of the job.
Ability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure.
Ability to maintain both a high standard of courtesy and cooperation in dealing with co-workers.
Ability to accept responsibility for the direction, control or planning of an activity.
Travel Requirements
Travel requirements are seldom or Up to 5% of time.
Physical Requirements:
Exert up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to a minimal amount frequently
