The positon is typically filled at a salary of $51,142.however, salary is commensurate based upon education and/or work experience.

This position is located in the Greenfield District.


About the Job:

As a Project Manager, you will serve as a mid-level project manager responsible for managing scope, budget and schedule for large projects or multiple medium projects with moderately complex project requirements. You will serve as part of a cross-functional team focused on delivering projects on-time and on-budget from letting to completion.

A Day in the Life:
  • Serve as a primary point of contact and is responsible for overall work progress and technical performance of project.
  • Manage the project team through all phases of project planning, execution, and closeout consistent with established project delivery processes to meet the scope, schedule, budget and other specified requirements.
  • Support a strong project management culture by coaching and mentoring entry-level project managers.
  • Responsible for assembling project team and assigning individual responsibilities.
  • Review contract plan specifications and estimates for scope, compliance and constructability.
  • Attend key construction project meetings and work with team to ensure project scope compliance.
  • Prepare reports and analysis to manage risk and recommend necessary adjustments.
  • Present project status and manage the project change process.
  • Complete the scope of work while ensuring INDOT’s quality, financial, risk management and policy expectations are met.
  • Responsible for overall work progress and technical performance on project.
  • Review and understand all functional (ROW, environmental, design, utility, etc) requirements to ensure expectations are clear and establish predictable workloads.
  • Facilitate cross-functional engagement with design and construction.


What You'll Need for Success:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, engineering technology, construction management, public administration, business management, or related field – equivalent combination of work experience and/or education may be substituted;
  • Additional two (2) years of experience as a project manager, preferably in a transportation or construction environment. Experience in developing and leading project teams
Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:This role may serve as a team lead for an assigned work group.
