Here’s where you come in:
We are currently in search of a Project Manager for our Fire Sprinkler team in Seattle. Our Fire Protection team focuses on the design and installation of specialized fire sprinkler and suppression systems that mitigate the risk of potential fires in the built environment. Preventing significant building damage or loss of life from fire in commercial, residential, healthcare, or institutional facility requires more than a few sprinkler heads. We’ve been delivering fire protection and sprinkler solutions for more than 30 years. Our comprehensive expertise and experience ensure all fire sprinkler systems work in harmony.

You’re great at:
Project Management
- Identifies required resources to achieve project goals.
- Generates preliminary assessments, technical solutions, fee proposals, presentations, studies, and general support.
- Transitions project management and engineer activities from design to construction phase and construction to completion phase.
- Communicates with the General Contractor, Architect, Engineer, Owner, and other stakeholders.
Project Controls
- Assumes financial responsibility for the project including accurate, timely, and relevant reporting to stakeholders.
- Facilitates invoice payments from clients and to subcontractors.
- Prepares client and subcontractor change orders.
- Monitors, controls, and reports on the financial performance of projects.
- Prepares or supervises the preparation of Submittals, Operation & Maintenance Manuals,
Expediting Reports, Change Order Log, RFI log, Correspondence Log, etc.
Team Management
- Coaches and mentors project team members.
- Develops project staffing plans to include labor, subcontractors, etc.
- Acts as steward of McKinstry culture; communicates and influences policies and procedures.
- Establishes and leads associated meetings. Other duties as assigned.
What we would like to see from you:
- Must have demonstrated proficiency in all the responsibilities of a Construction Project Engineer.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering or equivalent work experience required.
- Five (5) years of experience in project management, Sprinkler design, or construction is required.
- Proficient with scheduling software: Microsoft Project, Primavera, and/or Suretrak required.
- Completed OSHA 30 class is required.
- Advanced knowledge of Bluebeam Revu, Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook and required. Working knowledge of SharePoint preferred.
- Proficient with construction financial programs and software preferred.
- Demonstrates an understanding of accounting and financial management preferred.
- Nicet Level II or higher in water-based layout preferred
