Job Description

We’re providing thousands of schools with dream classrooms—and we need your help!
Our Proposal Team takes empty classrooms and fills them with the furniture, teacher supplies and learning materials they need most. But selecting the right items requires expertise…and that’s where you come in! We’re looking for someone with a solid grounding in early learning/elementary curriculum to use their knowledge of the classroom to make appropriate product choices for schools nationwide. In addition to a passion for education, you need exceptional attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Teachers, administrators and curriculum developers are strongly encouraged to apply. You will quickly learn that there has never been a better time to join Lakeshore!

A day in the life of the Proposal Team looks like this:
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints
  • Creating accurate classroom layouts from notes and rough sketches
  • Performing in-depth product selection: indoor and outdoor classroom furniture (including desks, tables, chairs, storage units, etc.), carpets, supplemental learning materials to support multiple curriculum areas, and other essential teacher supplies
  • Using room design software to support the classroom design process
  • Working with internal/external partners to provide flawless customer service
  • Providing miscellaneous team support to meet tight deadlines and project goals

Qualifications
Got the goods? These are the skills and background we’re looking for:
  • 5+ years of classroom experience or curriculum development in an early learning/elementary setting
  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field
  • Thorough knowledge of early learning/elementary standards and curricula
  • Familiarity with Lakeshore product lines for early learning/elementary settings
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced setting
  • Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, a strong team mentality and outcome orientation
  • Customer service orientation and collaborative approach with multiple cross-functional teams and internal/external customers
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Reader; comfortable with learning new technology
  • Top-notch written and verbal communication skills

Additional Information
And here’s our end of the bargain!
  • Competitive compensation based on skills and experience
  • Excellent medical/dental and vision coverage—EPO, PPO and HSA
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company contribution (because you will retire someday)
  • Flexible benefits—choose what you like, ignore the rest
  • Exceptional training and support, and all the resources you need to be successful
  • Super-awesome annual profit bonus plan
  • On-site preschool for our employees’ children
  • On-site employee gym for all levels/fitness needs
  • Generous employee discount
  • Casual dress…and we really mean it
