Job Description

Position Summary:

As a business projects manager, you will be managing Continuous Improvement/Lean projects across the region focused on client requested improvements, reduction of waste, cash, cost-out, and internal stakeholder requests through process simplification, automation, and/or systems replacement/improvement. You will facilitate cross-functional, regionally based team projects tasked to impact key business metrics with different departments inside the US region. You will influence and challenge key stakeholders, as well as regional and functional leadership, to continually drive the cultural change needed for Jet Aviation to achieve its vision and goals.

Main Responsibilities:

Manages Continuous Improvement/Lean projects with interdepartmental and cross functional stakeholders under the supervision Business Projects leadership

Drives projects through methodology using Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen and other appropriate process improvement methods and tools.

Directs project team, as required, assigning duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority

Manage project development from initiation to closure and demonstrate measurable lean results (cash, cost savings, increased throughput, etc.)

Resolves any issues and solve problems throughout the CI project life cycle

Tracks and reports project milestones and provides status updates to Project sponsor/Stakeholders

Completes post-project evaluations to determine if the expected results were successfully delivered, and develops lessons learned for continuous improvement in project delivery.

Presents to senior leaders on specific continuous improvement / Lean six sigma projects

Connect the dots across regional processes and develop integrated solutions for global processes

Represent Jet Aviation as one company internally and externally with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in aviation or related subject area

5-7 years’ relevant work experience

Thorough knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma processes, procedures, and concepts in business

Strong understanding of broader business aviation context beyond Jet Aviation

Initial experience in leading cross-functional lean/cost-out initiatives

Strong analytical and conceptual skills to solve complex issues

Strong communication skills to exchange lean metrics and project information

Fluent in both spoken and written English

Good influencing skills

Strong project management experience and abilities

The employee must be able to work in both a heavy maintenance environment and in upscale customer areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with occasional high volume when aircrafts arrive/depart. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. Occasional fuel fumes may permeate the workplace. Employee must be willing and able to work in all types of weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The Hangar environment may be extreme hot and cold during certain seasons of the year.
