High growth Commercial Construction Contractor seeking experienced Project Estimator to fill newly created opening. Project Estimator position consists of all pre-construction elements on multiple projects - scope development, construction schedule development, subcontractor pre-qualification, pre-bid site visits, bid leveling, bid submission, subcontractor award, subcontract generation and estimating to project management handoff. The Project Estimator will be stationed at the Tampa area office and must be willing to travel nationwide occasionally for pre-bid site visits consisting of 1-3 days at a time. Candidates must demonstrate the motivation to take the reins of all pre-construction activities for projects in the Industrial, Retail and Financial industries as well as having proficiency with various office products for project communication and documentation. Finally, candidates should convey company values of honesty and long term relationship building with clients and vendors. Candidates must show experience working with clients in operating facilities while undergoing renovations.
RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Ultimate responsibility for project estimate / RFP response
- Communicate & distribute plans to sub-vendors
- Assemble contract exhibits - work scopes, schedule, etc.
- Review and analyze sub-vendor bids.
- Compile RFP response & review with project team and management prior to submitting
- Buy-out and subcontract job prior to turning over to project management team in formal hand off meeting.
- Be able to work on estimates and bid opportunities with pre-construction team consisting of estimating coordinator, assistant project manager, project manager and project executive.
- High level of organization skills is a must as you will be bidding multiple projects at a time.

JOB REQUIREMENTSSKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Ability to travel on a frequent, albeit as-needed basis
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret construction documents, contracts, and technical documents
- Ability to write reports, and effectively present information and respond to questions from Management, Project Ownership, Clients and Subcontractors
- Competent in using Microsoft Office products, including MS Project
- Educational background in construction management
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local building codes and safety laws
- Knowledge of permitting, review and inspection process
