Project Engineer

TranTech Engineering, LLC is looking to hire a full-time, Project Engineer with 6 to 12 years’ experience for our growing Bellingham office. Our preferred candidate will be a motivated, self-starter who desires to pursue a project manager career path immediately. The candidate will work on a wide variety of projects throughout the Puget Sound region including municipal roadways, non-motorized corridors, bridges, retaining walls, stormwater management systems, transportation planning, and construction management projects for various public agencies.

Minimum Qualifications;

· Six (6) years within the civil engineering field that included; independent engineering design, plan layout and preparation, written specifications, developing cost estimates, assembling contract documents, and other related municipal engineering processes;

· Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering (BSCE) from an ABET-accredited college or university

· Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification and Professional Engineers (PE) from Washington State or the ability to obtain Washington State licensure within 12 months of employment

· Valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record

· Authorized to work in the United States of America

Minimum Work Experience;

· Highly proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, & PowerPoint).

· Proficient with AutoCAD/Civil 3D by Autodesk. Must be able to readily develop Civil 3D alignments and profiles, with corridor modeling, preparing grading plans using surface editor, and similar expertise a plus

· Knowledge of storm sewer sizing, piping systems, grading, and erosion control (experience with MGSFlood a plus)

· Familiar with AASHTO, WSDOT, and Public Agency Standards

Additional Experience preferred, but not required;

· Structural engineering experience of bridges and/or retaining walls

· Construction inspection experience

· Microsoft Project or similar for construction scheduling and sequencing

· Using MicroStation/InRoads

Typical Job Responsibilities include;

· Performs independent design services related to roadway and site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, and erosion control in conformance with local, state, and federal regulations

· Prepares construction plans using AutoCAD/Civil 3D

· Assists in the development of technical reports

· Prepares specifications and cost estimates

· Demonstrates strong verbal and written communications skills

· Demonstrates strong organizational skills and an aptitude for detail

Pay: $48.00 - $55.00 per hour
