You would be using your experiences to design a variety of project types within the healthcare sector. You’ll use your excellent communication, presentation, time management and people skills as you will work closely with a Senior Designer and Project Manager developing non-routine and complex design concepts in a manner responsive to the client's needs and deadlines.

Responsibilities: In this role you will:
  • Develop a thorough understanding of projects’ design philosophy and provide major input in developing a design and building performance strategy and effectively convey this to assigned team members when appropriate.
  • Provide technical design input and support for the development of the entire design concept. Responsible for a project’s technical design effort, subsequent detailed design development, project coordination and quality control efforts during all phases of project work, in close collaboration with Senior Designer.
  • Seek creative and innovative solutions to assigned tasks and develops appropriate research and documents to support these solutions.
  • Actively collaborate with and coordinate work of consultants and knowledge resources to ensure the project deliverables are coordinated, integrated, and support the design concept and performance goals of the project.
  • Contribute to the preparation of design documents and leads the detailed development of construction documents during all project phases, delivering complete, accurate and coordinated project documentation.
  • Advance the production of schematic, design development and construction documents drawings and specifications in compliance with project scope, schedule, cost, and design intent.
  • Maintain awareness of evolving building technology and systems.
  • Review shop drawings, material samples and CD’s for conformance with design.
  • Perform construction administration duties (e.g., RFI’s, RFP’s, change orders, etc.)
  • Prepare reports and specifications; reviews completed reports, plans, cost estimates and calculations.
  • Execute applicable agency review analysis (accessibility, zoning, life-safety, etc.)
  • Establish architectural budget, task schedule and other components of the project work plan in collaboration with Project Manager.
  • Implement meeting objectives, facilitates meetings, and provides meeting notes documentation.
  • Maintain contact with clients, consultants, and contractors during all project phases, participating in marketing, client and owner presentations as required.
Qualifications: We’re looking for someone with
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture required
  • This position requires 10 -15 years’ experience, including working on small- to large-scale project types
  • Strong graphics skills are an essential
  • Knowledge of Revit, 3D Max, SketchUp and other industry accepted software as well as expertise with project management software and Microsoft Office Suite products is needed
Preferably,
  • Master’s degree
  • LEED accreditation
