Great Northern Corporation in Brooklyn Park, MN is seeking a Project Coordinator to join our Design Team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING. OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED.

  • Plan and define requirements for press production including layouts. Writes Litho and Digital press tickets.
  • Provides some administrative support for management.
  • Back up and provide support to litho press team. Schedule litho press as required. Prepare press tickets and order supplies as needed.
  • Back-up to the Primary Purchaser of packaging components (clips, foam, etc.) for Target orders.
  • Back-up to the digital and litho press schedulers.
  • Specify and execute the procurement of litho-related supply items including but not limited to paper, plates, inks, etc.
  • Write, types, or edits orders, or enters data accurately into computer, to determine total cost for customer.
  • Determines production routing of custom orders according to specifications and machine capabilities.
  • Expedites "hot" orders.
  • Initiates purchase requisitions.
  • Routes orders to appropriate department for order processing.
  • Follows up on orders to ensure delivery by specified dates.
  • Confers with production, sales, shipping, and warehouse staff to expedite orders and trace missing or delayed shipments.
  • Performs a variety of miscellaneous tasks that may be assigned by management representatives from time-to-time.
  • Manages all PSF’s for accuracy.
  • Follows up on orders to ensure delivery by specified dates.
  • Back-up to Account Coordinator- Digital, Project Manager- Litho and Target Team Procurement.
  • Participate in periodic staff meetings.
  • Participate in periodic training and development programs as required for the position.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related tasks as assigned by management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Self-motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Excellent interpersonal communications skills in oral and written format and in terms of telephone etiquette.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with customers, and the ability to convey a positive and professional image of service and support to employees at all levels of responsibility in the company.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, E-mail, and Excel) spreadsheet applications. Exposure to other computer software such as accounting, purchasing, manifest or plant data collection.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Two years of litho print knowledge required.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Advanced level of knowledge on products and services and manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge and experience in a sales, manufacturing/machine routing, distribution environment.
  • Accuracy in work and strong attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with, and ability to use and interpret, Internet/Intranet information.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive and confidential company and employee/employment related information.
  • Approachable and supportive when working with others.
  • Ability to define problems collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions.
  • A commitment to ethical business standards and personal integrity.
