We have an opening for a full time Project Architect. The position involves full project management responsibilities and requires proficiency in all project phases from schematic design through construction administration. We are particularly interested in candidates who are looking for a higher level of responsibility and general involvement in overall firm growth and development.

Prerequisite:

  • Licensed Architect or Interior Designer
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture or equivalent Interior Design Degree from an accredited program
  • 6+ years of experience in an Architecture or Interior Design firm
  • Architectural/ design experience in educational, commercial, mIxed use, creative office, and retail/hospitality preferred
  • LEED certification encouraged
  • Project Management experience
  • Construction Document development and QA/QC experience
  • Knowledge of construction process
  • Experience with local and state building codes
  • Experience with local and regional regulatory authorities
  • Ability to mentor staff in area of expertise
  • Strong Design Skills: Architecturally and Graphically
  • BIM Proficiency (Revit proficiency required)
  • Well-spoken and comfortable leading client meetings and presentations
  • A team player who prefers a highly collaborative environment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

Desirable Skills:

  • Proficient in Revit, Sketch up, Adobe Creative Suite, Excel, Unity (not required), Lumion (not required)
  • Mastery of Architecture/Interior Design practice, i ncluding design, documentation, detailing, building materials, building codes and construction methodology
  • Understanding of each phase of the process (SD, DD, CD, and CA) and how to coordinate drawings accordingly
  • Experience in FFE specification
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction documentation and procedures/ understanding of how to assemble design packages and construction documents
  • Knowledge of building construction systems, constructability, materials, and industry associated standards
  • Ability to effectively lead consulting engineers and coordinate work
  • Self-driven, proactive, organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to communicate via sketch and modeling
  • Consistent positive and effective oral and written communication with team members and clients
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team with urgent deadlines, multiple projects and multiple team members
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the proven ability to build and maintain strong internal relationships

Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualize a building design on a variety of scales from both a functional and aesthetic perspective in concert with a client's requirements, budget and program
  • Develope of a design through sketches, physical models, electronic models, diagrams, massing studies, and other visual formats to express the design intent and communicate to project team, client, and building user groups
  • Effectively and accurately document drawings and answer detailed design related questions
  • Deliver clarification of design and make modifications during project construction phase as required
  • Manage design projects from start to finish including project programming, planning, scheduling and status updates
  • Collaborate on Construction Documents and Construction Administration
  • Effectively monitor and report project tasks and deadlines
  • Research and resource materials, finishes, architectural lighting, appliances, fixtures
  • Attend frequent meetings with Design Team as scheduled, and develops all presentation materials for client meetings, assists in presentations, and works closely with the Design Coordinator to ensure graphic standards are met
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, contractors and subcontractors while ensuring quality of the final product for client
  • Mentorship of designers
