Job Description

You will lead and grow a team of Program Managers and Coordinators across Austin, Dallas and Houston who are passionate about entrepreneurship and technology. You will support the overall strategy, develop the programming and drive to complete the large and small scale programs that benefit our community and corporate partners. These programs include: SXSW, Austin Startup Week, Startup Crawl, FedSupernova, Innovation Council programming, Founders Stories, Ask Me Anything, Academies, Defense Innovation, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and the Texas Startups Roadshow.

You will be one of two directors in our programs team. Your primary focus will be on the logistics and execution of our programs and events. You will work cross-functionally with other departments to deliver quality content and programs to our community, corporate partners and our ecosystem of entrepreneurs.Our partners have limited personnel and carry varying opinions of success. You are responsible for navigating these different expectations and for pulling them forward. You show our partners how they can achieve their goals through Capital Factory programming. It’s up to us to make them successful – that’s a big reason they choose to keep working with us. Our goal is to provide the type of service you might expect from the Four Seasons or Tiffany’s. We sweat the small stuff. We respect their time. We do whatever it takes and do it with style.

Requirements

  • You are customer service oriented.
  • When everyone else is getting stressed or excited, you keep your cool.
  • You are organized and plan ahead, but you don’t get stressed out when things change at the last minute. Because they will. You roll with it.
  • You are outgoing and can talk to just about anyone.
  • You are a detail-oriented documentor. You make lists and spreadsheets.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills are critical. Strong ability to influence and drive change.
  • You are a problem solver. You look for ways to make things work better and how to turn chaos into systems.
  • You are meticulous and have the ability to deliver high quality work, on time, in a dynamic organization under time pressure.
  • You have 3+ years experience with executing large scale physical and virtual events from ideation to programming to event logistics and production to completion, simultaneously.
  • You have 2+ years of experience managing a team.
  • You are a decision maker and know when to escalate situations to appropriate leadership within the organization.
