Job Description
Basic qualifications
The Employer Engagement Team is focused on ensuring job-seekers from AWS Education Programs get cloud career employment with AWS and our Customers. This role will build and scale how we connect this early-career cloud talent to a job through strategic relationships with business intermediary organizations such as industry alliances, chambers of commerce and economic development organizations (‘business consortia’). The goal of this position is to lead and engage with local and regional Business Consortia in defined regions in the United States where AWS Education Programs have a high concentration of learners and job-seekers. It requires someone who has experience building demand-driven employer engagement strategies and a passion for building new relationships with these types of organizations.
You will be responsible for the strategic build out of a national network of business consortia, while also deeply engaging existing business consortia partners and their member companies in employer-engagement activities including virtual job fairs, participation in the AWS job board, involvement in local work-based learning opportunities, etc. The PM will track defined KPIs and be able to proactively drive course corrections as needed. Success means working with our entire Training and Certification team to deeply understand and influence the evolution of our programs, memberships, curricula, infrastructure and employer-facing solutions. Successful candidates will need to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with smart, motivated people who are passionate about workforce development.
The ideal candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to earn trust and confidently engage with senior leaders inside and outside of AWS. This role requires enterprise business experience and comfort engaging at the VP-level and above with internal and external stakeholders. Success will mean being inventive and fearless in a new team while balancing operational excellence and program success. Ownership will include deep engagement with core customer segments – in particular external business organizations and AWS customers – to ensure that AWS Education Programs can deliver candidates that meet industry requirements for early-career cloud roles.
