Amazon’s Relay Operations Center (ROC) team is seeking a talented Program Manager to assist in the management of daily freight movements flowing into and out of our North American fulfillment centers and our associated fulfillment network. As a team, our role is to manage and solve network imbalance, and utilize all available capacity in the network to drive efficiency and productivity. We build and utilize metrics to bring visibility to stakeholder performance misses and drive better performance, working to bridge any gaps between all stakeholders.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Work closely and collaborate with strategic planning teams leveraging Metrics and tools to deliver on business KPI’s.
  • Continual tactical and strategic communication with internal customers/stakeholders (Retail, Finance, Software Support, Fulfillment Centers)
  • Pull data from numerous databases (using Excel, Access, SQL and/or other data management systems) and perform ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed
  • Develop performance metrics to assist with driving business results.
  • Lead initiatives to re-engineer business processes and identify and eliminate root causes of defects in order to drive efficiency in Amazon’s transportation operations.
  • Scope out business and functional requirements for the Amazon tech teams who create and enhance the software systems and tools we use.
  • Work within various time constraints to meet critical business needs, while measuring and identifying activities performed.
  • Degree in Logistics, Transportation or related field
  • 3+ years work experience in logistics/transportation industry. Work in a dispatch, brokerage or driver management capacity is a plus.
  • Familiar with various types / sizes of transportation equipment (tractors, trailers).
  • Demonstrated success working with carriers and or brokers.
  • Understanding of US DOT regulations.
  • Expertise in MS Access and SQL
  • Proficiency in Lean and Six Sigma
  • Experience in manufacturing, transportation, customer service, and/or distribution environments
  • Data management & data quality control experience with experience pulling and analyzing large sets of data
  • Demonstrated experience using data to drive root cause elimination and process improvement
  • Proven problem solving and project management skills
  • Demonstrable problem-solving, mathematics and analytical skills using data to drive decisions in a business environment
  • Excellent communication, both verbal and written as you will be required to create a narrative outlining your weekly findings and the variances to goals, and present these finding in a review forum.
  • A self-starter who loves data and who enjoys spotting the trends in it!
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced deadline-oriented work environment
