Job Description
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

- 5+ years of experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- At least 5+ years of program management experience with lobbying and/or commensurate government affairs experience.
The Program Manager will be responsible for developing and executing on a policymaker engagement program for Amazon’s senior executives related to our policy priorities at the state and federal levels. The Program Manager will work closely with Amazon’s senior executives and will implement strategies to represent Amazon before high levels of government, including Members of Congress and Administration officials.
In helping to set the public policy and advocacy agenda for Amazon, the Program Manager will work collaboratively and transparently with others in public policy and business units to ensure alignment between business priorities and public policy goals. The individual will propose, prepare for, and execute a recurring program enabling our senior executives to engage with critical policymakers to promote and advocate the company’s public policy objectives. In executing the engagement program, the Program Manager will work closely with other team members, soliciting input, driving timely completion, and synthesizing deliverables into comprehensive and actionable engagement plans for our executives.
This position is based in Washington, DC.
- Previous experience executing policy programs before federal policymakers and their staff.
- Extensive experience managing policy-related engagements for senior corporate executives.
- Prior experience with steep learning curves, and the ability to effectively communicate complex information to a wide variety of audiences.
- Highly effective oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills; demonstrated ability to effectively and comfortably interact at the highest corporate and political levels.
- Maintain highest personal levels of ethical conduct, confidentiality, and integrity, with strongest professional reputation in the industry.
- Self-starter with proven track record of successfully working with a wide array of functional groups across organization and culture.
- Ability to influence, negotiate with, and persuade others is required. Must be flexible and demonstrate strong judgment/decision-making skills, and political acumen
