Consulting Practice

Position Overview

  • emids is looking for a Program Manager to be an emerging leader of its growing Consulting practice. This individual will serve as an Engagement Lead and be responsible for guiding large, complex projects as a trusted advisor to the client. Senior Managers will lead colleagues and client resources and own the profit & loss (P&L) for an engagement. Senior Managers will play key roles leading internal initiatives, client proposals and serve as career coaches to others in the consulting practice.

Responsibilities

Client Delivery

  • Manage large, complex client engagements and direct hybrid team of colleagues and client resources
  • Establish strong engagement stakeholder relationship and own consulting P&L for client engagement/s
  • Direct engagement schedule, communication with client and ensure scheduled adherence as per proposal
  • Lead problem definition to understand the business problem experienced by the client
  • Drive data gathering and analysis to understand the gaps and/or inefficiencies leading to the problem
  • Guide solutions development for complex client problems to ensure meeting of goals and project deliverables on time
  • Coach a team of managers, consultants and associates through the client engagement

Revenue Generation

  • Support consulting practice P&L by managing level of effort, scope and budget for client engagements
  • Play a key role in consulting proposal development during pre-sales and opportunities pursuit cycle, including proposal orals and client presentations demonstrating domain differentiation for emids
  • Create strategies and identify opportunities for existing engagements to generate new business
  • Assist in lead generation through value propositions by providing domain specialist support
  • Demonstrate industry specialization in solution offerings within the consulting practice
  • Support strategic and tactical initiatives to identify, develop and extend client relationships

Practice Development

  • Contribute to knowledge development by conducting training on specific topics related to the offering areas
  • Play a key supporting role in running specific internal initiatives to grow the practice
  • Develop collateral to support the market positioning initiatives
  • Develop assets such as frameworks, accelerators, use cases and proof of concepts (POCs)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional/technical teams to incubate new solutions

Leadership

  • Lead employees on projects or difficult assignments
  • Latitude to make decisions in achieving defined goals
  • Make decisions on client deliverables based upon objectives and allocated resources
  • Serve as career coach for other team members
  • Serve as trusted advisor for client stakeholders
  • Develop skills in a technical expertise or subject matter expertise in a domain within healthcare

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 8 years of health care management and/or consulting experience
  • Proven track record of delivering and leading client engagements
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills in client delivery settings
  • Creative problem-solving skills, analytical skills and intellectual curiosity
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and prioritize simultaneously
  • Expert knowledge of MS Office products

Preferred

  • Ability to understand and identify delivery risks and develop mitigation strategies
  • Absolute integrity and strong, hands-on work ethic
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of the healthcare industry, challenges and current market conditions

Location: Flexible within the U.S.

Travel: Anticipate the ability to travel 50% of the time once normal business travel resumes
