Position Summary:
Ombudsman is seeking a dynamic leader to join our growing team dedicated to serving special needs students. Our Program Directors work closely with the Regional Director and Senior Vice President of Operations to provide personalized, evidence-based educational services for nontraditional learners in collaboration with families and public school districts. This is a real opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the students and families that we serve. The Program Director supervises and provides direction to the administrative educational and related services staff to assure successful delivery of quality educational services and Ombudsman objectives. Through servant leadership, the Program Director seeks to meet personal, regional and company goals by building positive, professional and productive relationships with all staff.
Position Details:
- Start date August 2, 2021
- Supervise the day to day operations of all campus operations and activities of the school including all staff and school schedules.
- Develop and coordinate educational programs through meetings with staff, review of teachers’ activities and issuance of directives.
- Recruits, develops and guides school personnel to function as a cohesive team through effective communication systems and regular training programs.
- Participates as a team member and promotes a positive work environment by demonstrating cooperation, compromise and appropriate expression of opinion and by treating others with consideration, courtesy and respect.
- Develop and maintain relationships with parents, guardians and student representatives.
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with the district liaison to meet student needs.
- Assist in behavioral interventions and fully implement a Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) model.
- Ensures the rights of all students are observed and protected through the use of appropriate and respectful communication, proper de-escalation techniques, and correct physical restraint methods when necessary as per CPI training.
- Provides timely, accurate and professional documentation by recording daily grades/points, progress notes, progress reports, report cards, IEP goals and objectives, incident reports and behavior data in accordance with standard practices of the school.

Qualifications
Education
Preferred
Bachelors or better.Experience
Required
5 years: Administration and/or classroom experience working with individuals with severe disabilities and challenging behaviors. Leadership experience in a Special Education School setting. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Skills in working with students with diverse needs Must be proficient in Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
