Under the supervision of the Program Director and Program Manager, the Program Coordinator will recruit and enroll participants by telephone; conduct follow-up by telephone/email as appropriate, enter and maintain participant data, and perform clerical work related to the program. Provide online/on-site monitoring support during the TimeOut@UCLA Program virtual/on-site program twice a week. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting students and senior participants (with memory difficulties) to interact with each other, assisting in recreational activities between the students with senior participants (i.e. card games, puzzles, memory exercises, etc.), assisting with set up of students and senior participants on the program app.
Must possess: excellent communication skills (verbal and written); attention to details; ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively with frequent disruptions and shifting workload; analytical skills sufficient to solve problems with minimal supervision; ability to work in a team-oriented collaborative work environment as well as independently. Must also have experience dealing with common challenges of seniors who have early memory difficulties and be comfortable interacting with college students and senior participants’ caregivers.
This is a part-time, 6-month, limited appointment. May convert to career.
- Ability to work with program participants skillfully in English and Spanish
- Ability to work with an ethnically diverse population
- Accuracy and attention to organization, details, and record keeping
- Knowledge of HIPAA privacy and information security procedures
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish
- Prior experience recruiting program participants by phone
- Willingness to drive with own means of transportation to different community sites within LA County (as needed)
- Experience in dealing with common challenges of seniors who also have early memory difficulties
- Experience with working with multidisciplinary team (Faculty, staff, researchers & physicians)
- Experience with recreational/online activities for seniors with memory issues.
