Position Summary:

The incumbent will play a large part in the success of UCI Health's strategic initiatives enabling UCI Health’s Strategic Vision by developing, deploying, and managing strategic operating plans that deliver sustainable, measurable change across UCI. This position builds stakeholder alignment to address and overcome complex interdisciplinary problems and organizational needs, provides project management for deployment of the strategic vision, supports and guides decision making related to existing and prospective markets including demographics, peer benchmarking, provider supply/demand analysis, industry trends, and service line assessments, leverages data systems to build a robust fact base, quantify financial and operational benefits, and prioritize efforts, provides insightful analyses and communicates recommendations to senior leaders, and serves as a key business partner for areas supported.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Strong facilitation skills
  • Understands and has significant experience in the use of tools for process improvement to include lean methodologies, project management, change management, and other improvement techniques
  • Ability to manage risk and ambiguity on a project
  • Experience developing and/or maintaining progress reporting scorecards or dashboards
  • Effective communicator able to understand the needs of a variety of audience members and tailor a message accordingly
  • Results-oriented change agent who is an effective business systems thinker
  • Analytical ability to develop, analyze and interpret application of data
  • Proven ability to quickly develop credibility with various/all constituencies
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Internal or external process improvement, management consulting or strategy consulting (or equivalent experience)
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Ability to maintain an organized approach, clarity of purpose, and goal orientation in a rapidly changing environment involving multiple stakeholders of various levels from throughout the organization.
  • Must be results-driven to drive quantifiable results
  • Understanding of business planning including analysis, budgeting, feasibility studies, and implementation.
  • Ability to plan, set expectations (for self and others), and accomplish multiple objectives within specific timeframes.
  • Proficiency in healthcare planning tools and databases (e.g., OSHPD, Sg2, Advisory Board, Tableau, etc.)
  • Good team leadership and motivational skills and good creative problem solving skills
