Job SummaryThe College of Engineering and Applied Science encourages applications for a Professional Research Assistant! The Professional Research Assistant will work at CU Boulder in an academic research laboratory, conducting studies on oxygen microbubble theranostics, as well as developing related instruments and techniques.

Current research in biomedical engineering at CU Boulder focuses on innovative areas such as biomechanics, medical devices, imaging and diagnostics, and therapeutics. Our goal is to create technology—drugs and devices—to treat these injuries and illnesses safely and effectively.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will BeThe Professional Research Assistant will perform research in the field of therapeutic microbubble applications, applying standard methodologies for experimental design, data collection, interpretation and dissemination. Experiments will primarily include in vivo studies with small animal models. Other duties include designing (i.e. CAD), executing (i.e. additive manufacturing, machining), validating and implementing novel instruments to support this research. What You Should KnowThe anticipated semester for start is Spring, 2022.

The salary range associated with this position is $40,000-$50,000 per year.

What We Require- Bachelor's degree in an engineering, physical or biological field with coursework in mathematics, statistics, manufacturing, and computer-aided design (CAD).
- At least one year of experience conducting research in engineering, physics, or biology.
- Mathematics coursework must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
- Proficiency with CAD, MATLAB, statistical analysis, and graphing software (i.e. Origin, GraphPad Prism).
- Thesis-based Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in engineering, physics, or biology.
- Experience in generating manuscripts and administrating peer-reviewed publications; presenting scientific findings within a lab group and abroad.
- Possesses an interest in learning and applying physics and chemistry at a graduate level.
