Production Worker

Nikola's Bakery is a family owned, 24 year-old company that is growing its traditional bakery business. We are located in Bloomington, MN

PURPOSE OF THE JOB : To safely and efficiently package bakery products or work in the bakery production area while properly maintaining quality and Good Manufacturing Practices. On the job training will be provided.

DESCRIPTION OF PRIMARY DUTIES

• Place wrapped product into boxes and push boxes through taping machines
• Fill baking container with products and stack on to racks
• Take product off moving belts and place into backing pans
• Place toppings on top of bakery products
• Place product onto trays for shrink wrapping and into packaging containers
• Apply correct labels on boxes and erect boxes to be used for packaging and production
• Remove trays of product from racks and place on moving belts
• Ensuring products and pallets have correct labeling
• Stack boxes on pallets to correct pallet pattern
• Assist with keeping work area clean and free of clutter
• Break down boxes and put in trash carts
• Push full carts of product toward packaging area
• Help with clean up during changeovers
• Verify that products meet quality standards
• Follow direction from production leads and supervisors and assist in production and packaging work on an as needed basis depending on the production schedule

QUALIFICATIONS ***Essential

• Able to communicate, understand, follow standards, procedures and instructions
• Good organizational and detail orientated skills
• Able to cooperate with all co-workers and supervisory staff
• Able to work independently
• Able to work overtime as needed

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Able to lift 10 lbs repeatedly and up to 40 pounds occasionally without help
• Able to stand for 10 hours per day
• Ability to lift, carry, bend, push and twist - frequency varies during a normal shift

Basic English communication skills is a MUST
