Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases, has an immediate opening for a Production Supervisor at our Air Separation facility in Orlando, FL.The Orlando, FL ASU facility, consists of an Air Separation Plant with a Nitrogen Liquefier supplying liquid Nitrogen, Oxygen, and Crude Argon to customers throughout the Southeast. There is a distribution terminal and vehicle garage on-site, maintaining our fleet of tractors and trailers. Our business operates and requires support on a 24/7 basis and are supported by commercial drivers, plant operators, vehicle mechanical staff producing and delivering product to 200+ customers.
The Orlando Production Supervisor role is a key member of the Orlando leadership team reporting to the Site Manager with responsibility for leading the Orlando operations and distribution team. You will be required to gain an understanding of all aspects of site operations, maintenance, and record keeping with a specific focus on leadership skills as a first line supervisor.
Key responsibilities for this position will include:
- Direct supervision of the site operations, distribution, and garage personnel.
- Focus on Safety performance by effectively engaging our team and contractors in all aspects of our Basic Safety Processes.
- Provide Safety, Health, and Environmental training to our team and ensure compliance with all company, State, and Federal Standards.
- Ensure Environmental compliance in accordance with Air Products Corporate and Governmental Regulations
- Understand safe operating, design, and permit limits
- Able to respond and support plant and driver issues on a 24/7 basis
- Support of all aspects of the day-to-day operation that will include troubleshooting plant process problems, supervising daily plant activities and driving plant projects
- Identify maintenance concerns, develop and implement corrective measures with the maintenance team and carry out site preventive maintenance and mechanical integrity programs
- Engage support resources to achieve plant productivity targets and execute capital upgrades
- Support management of change, implement best practices, investigate incidents and near misses, understand and correct the root cause of failures.
- A Bachelor of Science in Engineering, military experience, or 5 years of operations experience are considered a plus
- Experience in Air Separation process/plant operations/maintenance a plus
- Self-starter with proven leadership abilities and interpersonal skills
- Strong commitment to EHS, employee development, team building and diversity
- Ability to manage multiple reporting programs and initiatives
- Passion for Continuous Improvement
- Strong communication (oral and written), organizational, teaching skills and PC skills mandatory (SAP a plus).
- Experience in the distribution field a plus.
