Production Shift Supervisor (2002927) – Livonia, Michigan
The Shift Supervisor position is responsible for all aspects of personnel safety, product quality, and timely execution of the production schedule on their assigned shift. The candidate must exemplify the safe and proper way to perform daily tasks and ensure that all appropriate BASF and plant standards are followed in this safety sensitive position.
The duties of the Shift Supervisor may include, but are not limited to:
Ensuring that all operators are working safely while following all corporate and site policies, standards and practices. Ensuring operators have the tools and training they need to complete their assigned tasks. Proper turnover (verbal and electronic) of production schedule status to the following shift supervisor. Assigning workstations and priorities to the shift each day. Close collaboration with Production Schedulers, to adjust to frequently changing priorities. Close collaboration with maintenance personnel, to ensure safe work permits and equipment lock outs are issued in a timely manner. As a recognized leader, you will work closely with the Site Leadership Team on incident investigations and Management of Change. Clearly communicating performance issues related to equipment or raw materials that are identified during shift hours. Accurately completing all SAP transactions related to production, inventory, shipping and receiving, as necessary. Your troubleshooting skills will aid the shift as you work with operators to resolve equipment and batch issues. Developing self and others is vital. Evaluating the performance of all operators on all shifts. This includes writing periodic and annual evaluations to identify strengths and weaknesses in performance, and actively coaching personnel to promote a High-Performance Team environment. Communicating with other departments or service providers on ongoing production issues that will affect customer shipments. Become proficient at operating the Rockwell PCS. Become familiar with all aspects of site operations, as needed. When necessary, the Shift Supervisor will be expected to work at a given station or activity to help the shift maintain productivity to meet the shipping schedule.

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For In You…
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required
3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment required
5 years of chemical manufacturing experience required
1 year of forklift experience required
Preferred Qualifications:
Associates degree in a technical discipline is preferred
Chemical manufacturing, batch production experience is preferred Strong leadership skills, with proven safety performance and process trouble shooting knowledge.
Strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills Sound computer skills and solid knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Knowledge of SAP is a plus. Reach truck experience is preferred.
Knowledge of SAP is a plus.
Knowledge of PLC control systems is a plus.
Knowledge of Quality Control systems and procedures is a plus.
Knowledge of Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing concepts is a plus.
