Production Supervisor - 3rd Shift

Our core values and well-defined culture are evident in daily life at HuFriedyGroup and continue to shape the success of our business.About the role: We have an immediate need for a Production Supervisor-3rd Shift at our Chips Manufacturing plant in West Chicago. In this role you will supervise the production floor which includes the allocation of work assignments to production and support staff, managing priorities, maintaining equipment and managing personnel. Position also requires knowledge of CNC equipment to provide a quality that meets quality and drawing requirements.What you will do: Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Supervise the production activity within the assigned manufacturing departments to achieve a level daily throughput.
• Set priorities, schedule and assign work within the assigned departments.
• Meet or exceed all productivity targets for the effective production of high quality parts and components.
• Be responsive to process and equipment deficiencies to maintain scrap levels below standard.
• Verify that maximum production output rates are being achieved.
• Verifies conformance of production parts to specifications.
• Directs workers in adjusting machines and equipment to repair products which fail to meet standards.
• Responsible for reviewing and approving individual employee work schedules and vacation requests.
• Lead and develop machine shop personnel by providing ongoing training.
• Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
• Drive Cycle time and efficiency improvements.
• Able to identify and report problems with machinery, tooling, and processes.
• Assures that machinery, equipment, and facilities are clean and properly maintained for efficient production, and uphold the standards Chips MFG is known for.
• Act as first responder, in accordance to company standards and practices.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment in all production areas.
• Proficient with computer software in order to perform required tasks. Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.

What we are looking for:

• Must have 2+ years’ senior level experience as Machinist, proficient with CNC Lathes.
• Must have 1+ years' supervisory experience in CNC Machine Shop environment.
• Demonstrated leadership in a production oriented environment.
• Must have comprehensive knowledge of Machine Shop standards and practices.
• Ability to manage a staff of 20+ employees.
• CPR and first aid certified.
• Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Demonstrates the ability to lead by example.
• Excellent decision making and analytical skills
• Ability to deliver results at short notice
• Ability to work under pressure
• Ability to work with little or no supervision
• Ability to work for long hours
