Summary of Role: The production planner will develop, integrate, and take ownership of operational plans that include diverse products and processes. The planner will liaise with many functions to communicate and implement business operation plans and strategies throughout the product lifecycle, including new product introductions. The planner is responsible for coordinating activities relating to assuring material requirements, labor, and capacity are in place to meet customer demand. The role will be responsible for ensuring the material availability of finished goods to meet a high level of customer service and order fulfillment. Projects will be a regular part of the work requirements of this position. These projects have varying durations spanning from a single day to a year long.
Position Responsibilities/Duties:- Creates product build schedules for Manufacturing and material demand plans for Procurement, working across the order fulfillment process to integrate customer demand with production and supply chain capability.
- Leads all aspects of Sales and Operations Planning including meeting leadership,
- Develops and implements production planning policies, standards, guidelines, technology and procedures.
- Identifies and drives planning improvement projects. Represents the business organization in providing solutions for projects.
- Executes ramp-up / ramp-down demand planning for New Product Introductions, version changes, phase out / obsolescence.
- Reviews, reports, and manages inventory levels, backlog, and product availability in accordance with business objectives.
- Work across world time zones to correctly position global inventories of materials and escalate material issues and corrective actions to the world-wide Order Fulfillment teams.
- Ensures that customer requirements are understood by all stakeholders and manufacturing gaps are addressed to support customer needs.
- Represents the product line as a contact on major policies, plans, and objectives.
- Communicates with Order Management team to address urgent customer orders and material shortages.
- Interacts with senior personnel or customers on significant matters.
- Sets clear performance standards for self and others; holds people accountable for results, delivers customer service goals, optimizes inventory investments, meets production requirements.
- Builds cross-functional and cross-departmental support, fosters overall group effectiveness and team culture to create an optimal environment for collaboration.
- Uses enterprise resource planning (ERP) system(s) for processes such as demand planning and forecasting, production scheduling, inventory and materials management, workflow management etc.
- Adjusts and determines use of system parameters to achieve desired results.
- Analyze Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Material Master data for accuracy and adjusts system parameters to achieve desired results.
- Serve as a representative for the product line as a member of a global planning team.
- Escalates issues to management and stakeholders as needed
Note: This position is currently remote; when a clear is given to return to office then this role could work a hybrid of Onsite/Remote.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors, Masters, University Degree or equivalent in business or technically related field.
- 4+ years related experience.
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel.
- SAP or similar ERP experience.
- Bachelors, Masters, University Degree or equivalent in Supply Chain, Operations, Planning, Data Analytics, Mathematics
- Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)
- CSCP, CLTD, SCOR
- Project management experience.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles.
- Experience with Sales and Operations Planning
- Understanding of MRP types, MRP methodologies, and how to utilize MRP types for various business requirements.
- Experience and understanding of forecasting and the use of various forecasting models to best predict demand.
- Proficient with statistics, data analysis, and data driven root cause analysis.
- Ability to identify process gaps or improvement opportunities and design solutions to address them.
- Sense of customer urgency: focus on customer, customer advocacy, and impact to customer.
- Ability to reconcile internal customer issues and provide empathetic and timely customer service.
- Understands philosophies of inventory management (e.g. FIFO, space optimization, VMI limits, cycle counts, warehouse storage).
- Possesses continuous learning focus; takes initiative to continually expand knowledge base and return learning to the organization.
- Effectively creates and maintains process documents and records.
- Adjusts communication style to match audience and culture and can effectively influence others.
- Ability to be assertive in getting requirements met.
- Ability to work autonomously and independently including creating self-initiated assignments.
- Consults with management on long-range goals and business objectives.
- Effectively prioritizes stakeholder demands and goals at both a tactical and strategic level.

- Excellent written, oral communication and process documentation skills.
