Job Description

The employee will be responsible for the setup and startup of lines at the beginning of the day. They are responsible for the appropriate paperwork and product completion. Line Leaders are required to comply with departmental safety requirements, contribute to the quality improvement process and interface and communicate within the department.

Essential Job Functions:

The Line leader is required to check the daily schedule to verify their line assignments.

The Line leader is to fill out the production worksheet and production transfer tickets in all appropriate areas the day prior to the actual production run.

The Line leader is to read their work orders to assure they know what is expected for the job assembly. The employee will utilize the “before startup checklist” sheet to ensure accuracy of components, code, equipment, etc. and to assure an efficient startup.

Line leaders and the QC inspector will walk through the line together at least 10 minutes prior to the startup of the line to verify the specification requirements and components

The line leader will assure staffing on the line meets the product standard and employees are placed in the proper positions.

Line leaders will instruct all employees as to the task to be performed.

Line leaders will place a transfer ticket on completed pallets only after counts of the pallet patterns have been verified. They will make sure all pallets are pulled off the line at the end of the shift.

The employee will take hourly piece counts and calculate efficiencies. They will explain all inefficiencies in the downtime area of the worksheet.

The Line leader will make sure all employees are rotated after breaks. They will reinstruct any and all employees where necessary.

The Line Lead should understand all aspects of the current Union CBA.

The employee is to assure their production worksheet is closed out properly at the end of their shift. This includes but is not limited to totals, efficiencies, rejects, etc.

When going to extent of a component be sure a count is taken to insure a smooth closing of the job. Also be sure to run out lines, (hoppers), etc. at the end of the day on job orders where required.

2nd shift receives a .75 cent shift differential.
