TK Elevator is seeking a Production Control Senior Planner in Middleton, TN.

Responsible for providing manufacturing with a production plan consistent with the plant capacity and customer requirements. Will evaluate and analyze data in order to produce a level daily schedule. Provide direction to lower level production control planners.

Essential Job Functions

  • Analyzes all factors leading to the execution of production schedule that includes shortages, capacity and delivery dates. Utilize and initiate improvements as determined necessary to current system(s) to determine daily level load of weekly schedule.
  • Plan and release job information to Manufacturing via various signals (auto stock, contract folders, stock parts, etc.) to support the daily production schedules.
  • Ensures that jobs released to build have material available and resource capacity through the Clear to Build process utilizing various systems (5REQ database, Contract Folder, Shop Load, etc.).
  • Communicates build sequence to manufacturing through daily schedule for jobs that have been determined are Clear to Build.
  • Helps establish and monitor WIP buffers for areas identified. Audit as needed to ensure discipline to process.
  • Audits to ensure correct inventory levels in order to support production.
  • Ensures pull process is functioning smoothly.
  • Follows-up with production schedules and helps establish metrics for schedule adherence. Provide weekly reports on production schedules and materials status, which may include variance analysis.
  • Provide work directions and training to lower level production planners, expediters and data entry personnel in the form of priorities, schedules and/ or daily assignments.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain SOP/Work Instructions for Production Control processes that are newly established and/or revised.
  • Communicates and coordinates design level changers, part/material obsolescence, and new part introductions so the customer is receiving the correct materials.
  • Complies with safety, quality and environmental standards, procedures and instructions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Who we are looking for
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in Logistics, Supply Chain or relevant field required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or Purchasing from an accredited University preferred.
  • APICS certification in Production and Inventory Management a plus (CPIM)
  • Minimum of 3 years in Production Control/Planning role.
  • Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience in management of a team in a manufacturing lean environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform multiple functions in a fast paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook) required.
  • Must be organized and detail-oriented to manage multiple projects.
  • Possess extensive experience in working with integrated computer programs and/or applications.
  • Possess very strong communication skills (verbal and written) along with sound interpersonal skills to all levels of organization.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and problem prevention skills.
  • Project Management experience a plus.
  • SAP experience a plus.
