Production Assistant - 2nd Shift (3:00PM - 11:00PM)

CASCADES CONTAINERBOARD PACKAGINGThe Containerboard Packaging Group, a division of Cascades, is the largest containerboard producer in Canada, and is also a top converter of corrugated products in the country. The Group manufactures a wide range of products made from recycled fibers for its North American customers in the food, beverage and consumer products sectors, among many others. The Division, which employs close to 3,400 people, owns six containerboard mills and nineteen corrugated products plants in Canada and the United States. Job DescriptionReporting to the 2nd Shift Production Supervisor, this position is responsible for the setup of the converting machine, running orders to meet customer specifications, and conducting quality checks. This position is a full-time (40 hours per week) position on our second shift, regular hours of operation 3:00pm to 11:00pm Monday to Friday. Must also be able to work mandatory overtime and weekends. Job ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Ability to work safely and successfully in a team environment;
• Responsible for machine setup and cleaning;
• Conduct quality check on finished product including ensuring meets customer specifications;
• Troubleshoot machine operation issues;
• Follow company policies, procedures, and work instructions;
• Other job duties as assigned.

QualificationsMinimum one year experience in manufacturing environment with preference given to Corrugated/Packaging industry experience.

• Strong understanding of Health & Safety Rules and Regulations;
• Ability to prioritize many tasks and execute results, which will promote customer satisfaction;
• Ability to deal with conflict, stress and time constraints in an efficient, professional, courteous manner;
• Must be able to work the 2nd shift schedule of 3:00pm to 11:00pm including mandatory overtime of either 3:00pm to 3:00am or 11:00am to 11:00pm or 7:00pm to 7:00am;
• Must be able to work on Saturdays when needed.
