Role/Department Description:

Analytics – Quant Product Development is responsible for the design and implementation of FactSet’s quantitative research and investment workflow solutions in alignment with the components of our Analytics Quant product vision and roadmap:

  • Leading Content & Value-added Derivatives : A connected hub of powerful content and derived analytical solutions
  • Core Quant Applications : A powerful combination of factor testing, portfolio construction, and quant production tools
  • Quantimental Integrated Research : Research & Portfolio Construction Environment for the new interconnected market environment

We’re currently looking for a Product Specialist to support, maintain and enhance the quality of FactSet Quant Offering with a focus on supporting Open Quant initiative. This position will be responsible for the development of our open and flexible quantitative research platform as well as shaping the development of the quant API.

This is an excellent opportunity to apply interests in programming, quantitative finance, machine learning, API development as well as user-focused interaction design.

Responsibilities:

  • Answer questions posed through RPD Quickly provide information to the people who have questions about the products that I manage
  • Coordinate efforts to address bugs Timely resolution of any bugs existing in my products
  • Writing specs, business requirements, user requirements, or system requirements Clearly communicate ideas so that the development process works efficiently
  • Coordinate development efforts (meeting, speaking, debugging with others) Consistently deliver new applications or features of high quality and that are value-adding
  • Product communication Ensure Sales, Consulting, and other Product Developers know what I’m doing and why
  • Ability to design test scenarios that match end user requirements and not just limited to the areas of implementation
  • Perform user acceptance testing (functional and regression) of FactSet applications and acquire knowledge on tools/practices that drive towards Testing for Continuous Delivery incorporating automation and aiming towards minimizing manual tests
  • Schedule test coverage walk-throughs with Engineering on new, modified and obsolete test plans. Move towards migration from test plans to user stories, use cases
  • Gain thorough understanding of a large-scale product, associated functionality and use cases
  • Proactively identify new functionality that’s not covered in test suite and get test cases created to increase the test coverage
  • Demonstrates deep understanding of assigned products, to include: System architecture and upstream/downstream interconnected systems, Client use cases and workflows, Historical failure points or deficiencies
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills:

  • 2+ years of experience and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance degree with strong technical skills, or other STEM field
  • Master’s degree in Economics, Finance with strong technical skills, or other STEM field preferred
  • Strong interest in the area of quantitative investment management
  • Programming experience in Python
  • Strong technical, analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills
  • Results focused with a strong sense of initiative and attention to detail

Desired Attributes:

  • Prior experience with Python/R
  • Prior experience in Agile/Scrum like product management with a strong technical expertise
  • Experience with Jira/Confluence
  • Interest in, and experience with financial technology platforms
  • Industry certifications such as FRM or CFA or progress towards CFA/FRM is desired
