Job Description

SHAPE THE FUTURE OF MOBILITY FROM DAY ONE.


This position is part of our Advanced Safety & User Experience segment in San Francisco, CA. You will work on Aptiv's Software defined vehicle of tomorrow and to enable a more safer, greener and more connected future of mobility.


Summary:


Are you ready to enable a safer, greener and more connected future of mobility? We're building agile teams (scrum) to take full dev-ops responsibility and closely interact with our partners and build the interfacing code and use cases. You will lead a team that creates processes and APIs on top of an existing PaaS layer to help automate software development for automotive industry.

You will own and maintain the Product Backlog and define the team’s specific objectives for the upcoming Project/Program Increment.


Responsibilities:

  • Understand the scope and need for architectural roadmaps and collaborate with architects and engineering to assist with decision-making and sequencing of the key technological infrastructures.

  • Protect the long-term technical integrity of the feature/product.

  • Play an essential role in Scrum ceremonies.

  • Your Reviews shall ensure that they will show the most critical aspects of the solution to the stakeholders.

  • Participate in the development of acceptance criteria for features and draft them when feasible.

  • Review and reprioritize the backlog as part of the preparatory work for Iteration including coordination of content dependencies with other POs and all relevant stakeholders.

  • Participate as a member of the extended Project Management team and review and contribute to the project-level vision, roadmap, and content presentations.

  • Has a total responsibility for the Quality of the feature/product/ component.


Must Haves (Basic Qualifications):

  • 3+ years experience in SW-Engineering or System Engineering.

  • Certificate in Professional Scrum Product Owner or equivalent work experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent.

  • Project Management skills, especially in areas of estimations, planning, clarifying goals & actions, managing backlog, identifying risks.

  • Knowledge of agile methodologies & keen interest in staying up to date with the trends in this dynamic field.

  • Basic knowledge of SW-Quality-Processes.

  • Ability communicate effectively and convey complex concepts into simplified language.

  • Ability to work in complex, matrix organizations for the benefit of the team.


Nice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications):

  • 5+ years experience in SW-Engineering or System Engineering.

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent.

  • (SW-)Project Management skills (methods, tools).

  • Methodical approach to problem solving.

  • Skillful and exhibiting willingness to anticipate customer’s needs.

  • Skillful in applying coaching techniques in business environment.
