As a Product Owner for Residential solutions, you will work with the latest cloud computing technologies while helping define our roadmap for cloud services aimed at both Crestron authorized resellers and end users.
You will also help expand the reach of Crestron Home by focusing on APIs, microservices, and other core building blocks. And you will work with our partners to improve the experience of integrating their devices into our platform.
As a Residential Solutions Product Owner at Crestron, you will work closely with other Product Owners and Product Managers to drive the development of products from concept through release in a dynamic, creative, and fast-paced environment. You will help broaden the reach of Crestron Home, our industry-leading home automation platform. You will play a critical and influential role in the development of cutting-edge devices and software for luxury homes, yachts, and hotels.
Responsibilities:
  • Serve as product solutions expert.
  • Write detailed user stories for new products that our engineering team will use for development.
  • Work with engineering to provide guidance throughout the development process.
  • Help define use cases for product testing by Crestron’s Quality Engineering department.
  • Track product failure trends in tandem with production and drive engineering teams toward solutions.
  • Track product sales periodically and plan for end-of-life.
  • Manage technical issues escalated by our technical support team.
  • Contribute to the training department’s development for related coursework.
  • Participate in industry tradeshows and other key market events.
  • Present your solutions virtually or in-person to customers and sales teams.
  • Keep abreast of competitive landscape and technology trends.
  • Use industry knowledge in conjunction with competitive research to help the product management team craft tomorrow's product roadmap.
  • Define the roadmap, and guide each feature through development, for a cloud-based configuration tool that will be the primary tool used to configure Crestron home automation systems.
  • Work with 3rd party manufacturers to find the best way to integrate those products into Crestron Home.
  • Work with the Crestron driver development team to prioritize the inflow of driver requests. Understand the industry and will interview Crestron dealers to understand their pain-points to be able to prioritize driver work in a way that brings the most value to Crestron and its dealer network.
  • Proactively calls on Manufacturers to get them engaged with creating drivers, and/or, putting those manufacturers in touch with Crestron Service Providers to have drivers built.
  • Work with Crestron Customer Support to facilitate training sessions so they are armed with the pertinent information for driver creation so they can best support customers.
  • Create standards, and Crestron partner programs that enable manufacturers to natively support Crestron without any new driver development.
Qualifications:


  • Self-starter with proven ability to learn new software and hardware technologies and an ability to quickly put that learning into practice in support of highly visible real-world projects. Be able to research and become an expert on new technologies relevant to the product line.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and the ability to lead team meetings, set expectations, and hold people accountable for delivering the expected product.
  • Team player with visible company spirit. Demonstrable ability to quickly gain the trust of key stakeholders, end-users, and co-workers alike.
  • Ability to be hands-on and travel occasionally to job sites to see how our products are installed/applied and be able to translate that experience into a better product in the future.
Ideal Experience & Education:
  • 5+ years experience in a technical role in the cloud or customer electronics industry.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering discipline preferred but not required.
  • Experience leading a team that has created cloud-based tools, or IoT devices, preferred but not required.
Must be able to work in the US without sponsorship now and in the future.
