Our interns will be part of a project team you will work alongside Senior Design Engineers; supporting the design, debug, validation and optimization of the products. You will be involved in projects from concept through production, gaining exposure to the complete design lifecycle. You will also support engineering builds gaining experience with high volume manufacturing. Some positions may require international travel.

Amazon internships are full-time (40 hours/week) for 12 consecutive weeks with start dates on May 22nd
and June 13th, 2023. Our internship program provides hands-on learning and building experiences for students who are interested in a career in hardware engineering. In addition to working on an impactful project, you will have the opportunity to engage with Amazonians for professional development, expand your network, and participate in activities (e.g., team building, social, educational, etc.) with other interns throughout your internship.

Developing Engineers Program (DEP) Internship Program:
DEP offers hands-on hardware engineering experience to students who have an interest in product design.
  • You will spend 12 weeks at Amazon, with the first two weeks in a hands-on PDE boot camp. You will spend the next 10 weeks working on technical projects with the support of a manager and mentor.
  • Applicants should have a minimum of one quarter/semester remaining in their studies after their internship concludes.

Key job responsibilities
Following the DEP boot-camp, you will partake in a ten-week internship. Key responsibilities may include:
  • Research into materials and component technologies to evaluate development opportunities.
  • Design features and test to meet program objectives.
  • Conduct test failure analysis and solution validation to complete successful product development.
  • Detail part design and product documentation.
  • Field failure analysis and solution evaluation for production product issues.
The DEP internship is geared towards students who identify with a historically underrepresented group in the tech industry, including but not limited to Black, Latinx, and Native American applicants. DEP focuses on high-potential students who need product design experience and skill-building learning opportunities.

  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with CREO.
  • Experience with high volume/high finish CE Enclosure materials.
  • Experience integrating component modules (I/O, Displays, Batteries, etc.).
  • Exposure to Product level validation testing (Thermal, EMC/EMI, Shock, Cycle Testing, etc.).

The pay range for this position in Colorado is $8,750.00/month; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
