Summary/Objective

The Procurement and Inventory Control Coordinator position will assist with ordering materials from overseas vendors and determine correct stocking levels. Works with Manufacturing, Customer Service, and Sales on stocking issues. Runs the annual Physical Inventory all using the current ERP system.

Responsibilities

  • Place purchase orders with overseas vendors, company owned and others
  • Determine correct stocking level for all items purchased from overseas vendors, by warehouse
  • Work with vendors to improve on-time delivery and reduce on-hand inventory
  • Work with factories on quality issues
  • Work with warehouses to correctly track inventory
  • Enter and update raw material item information into ERP system
  • Make sure purchase orders, container shipments, and receipt transactions are correct in ERP system
  • Work with Customer Service and Sales on stock outage questions
  • Review potential new customer orders for item availability
  • Run and compile inventory reports for accounting
  • Enter data for quantities of inventory and cycle count adjustments into ERP system.
  • Close shipments received and update ERP system
  • Receive and issue finished goods into ERP system.
  • Troubleshoot quantity discrepancies with manufacturing and inspection personnel.
  • Prepare monthly reports for cycle count and pick-lists count for monthly highlights.
  • Prepare and participate in yearly physical inventory.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. Appropriate personal protective equipment will be required when visiting production areas.

Required Education and Experience

  • At least 1 year of experience as international procurement or purchasing agent
  • Two- or four-year degree in field preferred
  • Purchasing certification – CPP (Certified Procurement Professional) is a plus
  • Computer savvy with working knowledge of MS Office
  • Working experience with ERP software is a plus
  • Ability to gather and analyze data and to work with figures
  • Solid judgement and sound decision making skills
