Process Technician

Works with periodic supervision under the direction of a Production Supervisor. Main activities include troubleshooting daily production issues, identifying and eliminating root causes of problems, creating standard work documentation, training operations personnel, and developing and testing new processes and equipment. Will work with production, design engineering, quality, purchasing, and various other groups to accomplish assigned tasks.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for resolving manufacturing issues to root cause
  • Participate in the development and implementation of reliable methods, working across functional groups
  • Develop and implement new manufacturing processes and concepts
  • Develop and maintain process documentation
  • Conduct and refine reports for experiments to characterize and validate new or changed manufacturing processes
  • Develop best practices and implement across all products
  • Train production team in new manufacturing processes
  • Justify, specify, order, and coordinate the installation and qualification of tooling and equipment
  • Maintain production fixtures and equipment
  • Reconfigure and optimize workstations
  • Determine appropriate material presentation and packaging
  • Improve ergonomics of manufacturing methods
  • Proven ability to demonstrate good judgement and make effective decisions based on facts and information at hand.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Fully Proficient Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in a manufacturing setting.
  • Education or experience in process design, development, test, and validation
  • Mechanical aptitude – working knowledge of mechanical and electrical assemblies.
  • Experience with computer applications
  • Able to efficiently collect and analyze data
  • Deep process orientation and strong problem solver
  • Able to read engineering drawing and schematics
  • Good analytical and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated communication (written and oral) and teamwork skills
  • Training or Experience in most of the following areas:

Lean manufacturing, Statistical methods, CAD, Ergonomics, Metal Fabrication
