Assumes a lead development role and is responsible for the successful automation of processes using technologies such as Robotic Process Automation (RPA), SQL Server, Power Platform, and others. Helps identify improvement opportunities that may be achieved through changes to processes, data, or technology. Defines and documents automation processes and solutions.
Essential Responsibilities
- Business Process Analysis: Actively consult and collaborate with process owner subject matter experts to understand business processes, to evaluate automation opportunity and coordinate the design of automation solutions. Concurrently identify opportunities to streamline and improve business processes through process or data changes. Prioritize opportunities; develop and execute timelines to complete improvements.
- Oversight of Automation Development: Using automation technologies, design, configure, develop and refine automated business processes. Automation technologies include, but not limited to: robotic process automation, smart workflows, optical character recognition, machine learning and natural language tools. Identify and lead the resolution of development issues.
- Business Process & Automation Support: Provide timely and accurate assistance and consultation to automation and process improvement clients within assigned business areas. Assistance includes, but is not limited to: demonstrating automation technologies, coaching automation development, providing status reports, supporting documentation and preparing presentations.
- Automation and Process Improvement Documentation: For each automated process, document a playbook detailing information necessary for sustainment. Playbook contents may include, but are not limited to: automation value, production readiness, process/functional design, technical design and deployment considerations. Support change management efforts.
- Industry Connection: Stay current with automation and other emerging business technologies. Has a broad understanding of this area of specialization and identifies emerging opportunities for the business.
- Provide work direction and training to other analysts. Train end-users on new processes.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Accounting, Finance or related business field.
- 7 years of Accounting, Finance or related business experience.
- Proven abilities in learning systems and be skilled in Excel and other Windows based programs.
- Demonstrated experience improving and/or automating processes.
- Ability to adapt to change quickly.
Preferred
- Strong knowledge of core aspects of process automation platforms and/or relevant programming languages (RPA, BPM, LCAP, SQL, ETL, API, .NET, C#, Power Platform, etc.)
- Regulated utility industry experience.
- Advanced degree or certification.
- Familiarity with Lean process improvement and Agile project management
