Job Description Summary: The PayPal First Line of Defense Center of Excellence (FLOD COE) team is looking for an energetic process and control documentation leader who will help us manage our diverse portfolio of business processes and initiatives. Job Description:
Our process and control documentation team works on enterprise policy and procedure documentation, control documentation, process mapping, and risk assessment support for enterprise documentation – from the very large and complex to the small, quick projects. The ideal candidate will have experience analyzing, tracking and enabling leadership decision-making at the enterprise–level – this includes: driving direction, creating strategy, tracking status, identifying and flagging risks, influencing the right work mix, setting prioritization practices, ensuring work aligns with our strategic direction and facilitating resourcing discussions.As a key member of our team, you will leverage your experience and leadership skills to develop, drive and influence the strategic direction of our documentation practice as well as dive into implementing these practices at all levels of our organization. We are looking for a masterful collaborator, and a leader who can simplify the complex, identify and drive action, and influence senior leaders to align their work toward strategic objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a documentation management strategy which will enable the FLOD COE to effectively manage the enterprise documentation lifecycle (Policy & Procedure (PnP) and Risk Assessment). This includes methodologies for prioritization while providing insights on resource utilization for increased efficiency.
- Work across the FLOD COE Team to ensure high-quality partnership, execution of strategic initiatives with significant impact on PayPal’s business and culture, employees and our function.
- Enable better and faster decision-making at the leadership level through improving and streamlining knowledge-sharing, enabling effective use of data/metrics, and rolling out (and continuously improving) processes.
- Support the documentation team to ensure alignment of work to strategic objectives
- Manage and improve upon rhythms for providing leadership and the function, at large, visibility into progress and roadblocks across the team’s work in-flight
- Collaborate across the COE team to align, communicate and ensure appropriate staffing
- Consult, support and manage enterprise documentation initiatives
- Leverage external network of resources in the global community to bring best-in-class insights, benchmarks and Internal Control Documentation practices to enhance our work
- Develop and maintain a network within PayPal and externally
Core Competencies and Experience:
- 8+ years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 5 years successfully leading a documentation and/or risk assessment team at a large institution
- 8+ years supervisory experience leading teams

- Ability to design/augment processes and implement change across a globally distributed workforce
- Exceptional critical thinking, and problem-solving skills; strong judgement, able to “see the forest through the trees”
- Creative, and able to translate a concept and bring it to reality
- Direct the initiation and provide oversight for key program initiatives, drive compliance with industry best practices and standards
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to deliver results in a very fast-paced and dynamic environment while keeping strategic thinking at the forefront of everything you do
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work across the organization and interact/influence/negotiate effectively at all levels of management and peers; unrivaled communication and listening skills
- Facilitation skills; able to run large meetings, especially comfortable driving to decision and reinforcing accountability
- Strong written AND verbal communication skills
