GENERAL SUMMARY: Provides specialized care, functions as a clinician, coordinator, educator and consultant for patients with diseases related to the skin, bowel or bladder and complex wounds. Accountable for providing consultation, clinical teaching, clinical supervision, role modeling, program development, nursing research and interdisciplinary cooperation with healthcare personnel as well as providing direct patient care and patient/family consultation and education. Facilitates the development, implementation, and ongoing management of a model for professional practice that fosters the delivery of high quality, cost effective patient care, as well as the professional development of staff. Utilizes Evident Based Practice principles into the practice to support the quality of care at Sibley Memorial Hospital.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Education:
- Graduate of an NLN accredited nursing program.
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing
- Masters Degree preferred
- Graduate of an accredited Wound, Ostomy and Continence Program.
- Current CPR Certification required.
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the District of Columbia
Certified Wound, Ostomy, Continence Care Nursing Through the Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nursing Certification Board.
Part-time 20 hours/week
