I. PRIMARY FUNCTION/GENERAL PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Maintains a clean environment and ensures proper functioning of anesthesia equipment, supplies, drugs, etc. Assists with anesthesia needs in OR suites and with special needs of the department.

II. EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS:

Work requires ability to understand and transmit information orally and to properly maintain simple records normally acquired through six months work experience. Must be certified in CPR

III. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

____ 1. Assembles necessary fluids and supplies.

____ 2. Maintains a clean environment. Monitors all rooms to ensure rooms are stocked and ready for operative cases and checked anesthesia machines to make sure they are clean and properly functions. Ensures circuits changed and connected and suction operational after each surgical procedure.

____ 3. Maintains adequate inventory of anesthesia supplies and drugs. Orders supplies and drugs and stocks.

____ 4. Maintains, cleans, and stocks specialty carts to include hypothermia cart, peds cart, difficult airway cart, latex allergy cart.

____ 5. Cleans and decontaminates all equipment after each case and returns to the proper room and storage space.

____ 11. Provides support and participates in various emergency situations and maintains emergency drugs and equipment.
