Introduction to the team

Moss Adams Private Client Advisory practice (PCA) is looking for a dynamic Tax Manager with an estate planning background to join our team. Our team is aligned to serve closely held businesses and their owners, executives, ultra-high net worth individuals, and their multi-generational families. Our success is rooted in strong relationships based on a deep understanding of what matters most to our clients. Our team collaborates across investment advisory, family office and tax to help our clients achieve their goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Support complex estate planning engagements to meet our clients’ personal, family, and business goals and facilitate the effective transfer of wealth.
  • Research and consult on tax matters, primarily in the federal estate, gift, charitable planning, and generation-skipping tax arenas.
  • Provide technical expertise to complex compliance and planning engagements.
  • Oversee the modeling of estate planning strategies for clients. Provide technical expertise to compliance and planning engagements.
  • Interact closely with client’s other advisors including other Moss Adams tax and investment professionals, outside attorneys, and other external financial managers.
  • Effectively leverage available technology and other resources to maximize technical application to client deliverables.
  • Ensure that Tax Seniors and Staff are up to date on current tax practices and changes in tax law
  • Provide both leadership and supervision to Tax Seniors and Staff.
  • Participate in the development of technical content like internal education, webinars, articles, and webcasts within area(s) of expertise.
  • Continue to develop relationships with clients, centers of influence, and other Moss Adams professionals through networking and business development activities.
  • Active sales team member for new and existing client sales opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required
  • Master of Tax or JD/LLM preferred
  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience
  • Previous experience in a public accounting or law firm preferred
  • CPA or Bar License required
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervising and training experience
  • Proficient in corporate, partnership, individual trust, gift, and estate taxation.
  • Prior experience in Private Clients working with high-net-worth individuals and owners of closely held businesses
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills required for managing multiple client engagements
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
