We market and distribute these products in the direct-to-consumer market, and are searching for a driven, detail-oriented Manager of Print Design to join our team.


The Manager of Print Design’s Mission is to never run out of ideas on how to improve the visual representation of our marketing assets and processes for the benefit of the end user. Careful consideration of product presentation, including the key benefits, features and offer is always top of mind. He/she actively seeks out ways to create fantastic experiences through the management and development of printed marketing materials including but not limited to: catalogs, direct mail, user manuals and product packaging. The Manager of Print Design pays particular attention to the ROI on time and resources and is credited with keeping design work on track, on time and on target.

Primary Responsibilities / Essential Job Functions:

  • The Manager of Print Design will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary project teams including Product Development and Marketing to ensure strategic delivery of scope of work services directly related to creative print design production.
  • The Manager of Print Design will manage the development of strategic solutions that result in stakeholder satisfaction and contribute to consumer acquisition and sales.
  • Serve as the Creative Print Design Lead when communicating and working cross departmentally with Marketing and other internal production teams.
  • The Manager of Print Design lead and direct designers in the production and design of all printed marketing materials.
  • Ensure visual communication and brand standards are met.
  • Oversee profitability of direct mail campaigns, deliverables and timelines of all print design projects.
  • The Manager of Print Design will meet with Senior Manager, Creative Services to convert campaign strategies, creative vision and marketing objectives into creative briefs directly assigned to designers.
  • Review design work, troubleshoot and provide feedback to designers.
  • Manage and cultivate the career development of design team members.
  • Lead and inspire a team of designers through management, planning and development of creative campaigns.

Direct Mail focused Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of direct mail campaigns from timeline establishment to design development and presentation through the print process.
  • Handle the execution of direct mail campaigns in multiple markets simultaneously. This involves working on several project components on varying timelines.
  • Work with designers and copywriters directly on briefs to design and produce direct mail collateral.
  • Manage print production: requesting and comparing pricing quotes, delivery of print-ready files and proofreading.
  • Monitoring direct mail campaign performance: tracking and analysis of campaign performance.
  • Defining audience targeting and segmentation.
  • Spearhead review and proofreading processes with other internal teams including editors, operations and marketing for major print publications such as Catalogs.

Product Packaging focused responsibilities:

  • Lead the design process for packaging materials for products including user manuals, labels and boxes.
  • Collaborates with Senior Manager, Creative Services and graphic designers to create eye-catching, function and benefit driven designs.
  • Work directly with Product Development and Quality Control team members, gathering all of the components needed to start a project and manage through internal approval and final handoff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Communications, Marketing or other related creative field
  • 5+ years design related experience
  • 3+ years of experience managing Creative/ Direct mail campaigns
  • Account Manager or Project Manager experience
  • Creatively driven
  • Nimble in finding answers without a lot of oversight
  • Positive solutions-based attitude to tackling challenges
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Prior experience managing direct reports

Work Environment And Travel Requirements:

Works in well-lit, ventilated and climate-controlled office environment with routine office equipment; some equipment has moving mechanical parts.

Noise level in the work environment is typical for an office environment.

Minimum overnight travel (up to 10%) by land and/or air.
