As a Solutions Architect in Micron Technology’s global sales organization, you will be charged with developing deep technical relationships with key National Service Providers and Systems Integrators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable for leading technology strategy of commercial channel accounts in Chicago Metro, owning technical strategy plan creation, technical advocacy, and partner empowerment
  • Partner with Sales Account Managers to uncover the business and technical requirements of assigned partners and their core competencies, driving adoption of Micron products into solution offerings
  • Build relationships and gain influence with key decision makers. Enable development of differentiated solutions and products based on technology challenges driving customer’s business objectives
  • Ability to effectively communicate value proposition, complex technical concepts to a broad range of audiences and all levels of an organization including C-suite
  • Research, develop, and publish articles of high impact solution designs with partners and customers
  • Analyze system-level bottlenecks and solve issues involving virtualization technologies, distributed storage architectures, and complex application workload environments
  • Collaborate across cross-functional customer engineering groups (e.g., Field Application Engineers, Solutions Engineering, Business Units)
  • Act as technical advocate, overcoming customer obstacles and objections during the presales process, and providing ongoing support as needed to effectively resolve issues or objections that may arise to ensure no disruptions to Partner or Customer adoption

Desired Experience

  • Experience working at, or closely with commercial channel partners, global system integrators, or original design manufactures
  • Experience transforming new and emerging storage and memory technologies and methodologies into highly relevant solutions
  • Experience with hypervisors and Software Defined Storage stacks: VMware ESX, VSAN, Microsoft Hyper-V, Azure Stack HCI, Ceph, Docker, Linux Open Stack / Open Shift, or Nutanix
  • Deep knowledge of Solid-State Drive architecture, High Performance Memory Architectures, and related Compute technologies
  • Experience in design and implementation of enterprise hardware for high-demand applications
  • Experience in delivering instructor lead workshops and training seminars
  • Ability to multitask effectively in a dynamic environment
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills

Ways to Differentiate

  • Proven track record in developing compute and storage solutions using memory and flash technologies
  • Extensive experience in system / application testing
  • Specialty skills in large scale computing, supercomputing, machine learning, convolution neural networks
  • Deep knowledge of 5G and Cloud Edge computing architectures
  • Experience with High Performance Compute and Storage Architectures and Platforms

Education Required

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Technical Marketing, or related field of study (or equivalent experience)

Experience Required

  • 10+ years customer-facing pre-sales engineering (sales engineering, systems engineering, solutions architecture) or field applications engineering with a strong focus on solutions
