Position Overview
The Principal Software Technical Program Manager manages the cross functional development and implementation of software solutions that support Adaptive's core products and operational workflows. Heavily influences alignment across cross-functional teams in support of product and program delivery. Monitors programs from initiation through delivery. Organizes the interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/program on schedule and within budget constraints. With expert knowledge of business and scientific needs, solves complex, ambiguous and undefined problems related to functional specifications and system/product development needs.
Responsibilities
Voice of the customer/Product roadmap
- Drives feature and scenario backlog, influencing business stakeholders on product strategy and roadmap
- Designs and documents feature scenarios
- Finds creative and wholistic solutions to customer and business problems
- Actively participates in product vision and business objectives
- Represents cross-component areas in PMO working group and core team meetings and contributes to non-s/w areas
Product design and Delivery
- Solves ambiguous, undefined problems that reach beyond product/service boundaries.
Process
- Applies SDLC processes to release planning, estimation, feature design, release scope documentation and validation test planning and execution
- Participates in design, code, and test planning and reviews across feature areas, understands the root causes of issues, and finds ways to resolve them
- Identifies feature-level dependencies and establishes milestone release criteria to manage them
Requirements
- Bachelors + 12 years of related experience, or
- Masters + 10 years of related experience
- Ability to engage with customers/partners to synthesize solutions from ambiguous and complex business requirements/constraints
- Highly proficient with expert knowledge in systems design
- Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
- Experience with technology in the healthcare/biotech industry is preferred
- Web Application experience is preferred
