Principal-Software Engineer (3GPP)

A great opportunity for someone interested in developing and pursuing experience in 3GPP Charging Area and Cloud based applications. 3GPP charging area is part of the 5G network core applications. Converged charging area covers online charging, offline charging and production of data usage records. This organization manages various applications in the Charging area in AT&T. Charging applications are responsible for granting usage quota based on the customer Data plan limits and trigger policy (speed) changes as and when customers reach their plan limits in real time and responsible for generating CDRs and sending them to Mediation, Billing systems, Portals displaying Usage summary & details and various other reporting applications. This Principal Engineer position is responsible for driving the architecture and design of 5G Charging systems based on 3GPP standards. Makes recommendations for Architecture, Design, Development, Test automation and Production operations improvements across Charging portfolio. Experience in working collaboratively with the Vendors, Interfacing applications, Application Full Stack Developers, Application Architects, Designers, Scrum Masters, QA Lead, and Production support team members. Drives the standards and cost effective solutions into early Design and Development stages of Portfolio/Enhancement efforts in the real time Charging area. Develops specific plans to reduce the overall cost of the Design, Development and Test processes as a result of the Automation deliverables based on CI/CD process. Develops detail plans that can be used to secure funding from various business funding sources for improvements and for developing features supporting business requirements based on 3GPP standards and business needs. Capable of designing, developing prototypes , testing and implementing deliverables. Drives 3GPP real time charging knowledge and expertise across the organization and Feature-based teams. Lead and own the Charging components, various application interfacing design, overall architecture for the charging areas in the organization. Expected to have knowledge of 3GPP standards. Expected to have full understanding, knowledge and experience in Agile and SAFe. Expected to have knowledge and experience in Cloud native applications using Kubernetes, Rancher and various tools. Expected to be a self-learner, highly motivated with very good collaborating skills following SAFe principles. Very focused on driving designs and deliverables always with Most Viable product and common goals driving efficiency and improving customer experience as primary objectives.

• Bachelor’s degree
• 8 Years of experience in Architecture, Design, Development and Test strategy development Areas
• Experience in J2EE, Microservices
• Experience with Agile, SAFe
• Experience with Cloud Native applications
• Familiarity with 3GPP standards
