The Principal Scrum Master is very analytical with strong technical background and execution mindset and be responsible for leading two or more self-organizing, cross-functional Scrum teams.
Responsibilities:
- Manage two or more scrum teams in a matrix organization on complex and high priority projects.
- Collaborate with the Development Teams, Product Owners, Architects, Chapter Leads in the continuous delivery of working software to achieve maximum business value
- Act as a change agent, help mature the Agile practices and further move the organization culture towards execution discipline, standardize processes, delivery consistency, metrics based measurements and speed.
- Foster a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, or judgement with an emphasis on problem solving. Cultivate a team culture of engagement, empowerment and enablement with continuous improvement and innovation.
- Ensure that the Scrum Team diligently follows the metrics and measurements for things like story points, velocity, burn-down, code quality, or the definition of Done and Ready
- Make it their mission to help the team remove any impediments during the current sprint but constantly looking few sprints ahead to proactively avoid delivery risks.
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies within each sprint: Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective
- Hold themselves and team accountable for the progress and performance of the team. Measure the same and make it available to the stakeholders at every level.
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a similar role
- 8 – 12 years of experience in a technology organization with 5+ years’ experience as a Scrum Master or technical project manager managing large complex software development projects.
- 3+ year’s of experience with SaaS/PaaS solutions, Cloud, DevOps, CI/CD, Service oriented architecture, API framework in a fast-paced environment. Start-up experience is a plus
- Strong planning, analytical, negotiation, written and verbal communication skills
- Solid understanding of scrum principles, practices, and theory with deep experience working with wide range of project management tools.
- One or more of CSM / A-CSM certification from Scrum Alliance or PSM II / PSM III from Scrum.org or ACP from PMI is a must
- Experience in the Specialty Insurance or Commercial Insurance industry preferred
