Do you enjoy architecting, building technical solution prototypes? The AWS Non-profit business and Social Impact (NPO) team is looking for a talented Principal Product Manager (Technical) to the do all these things across the NPO vertical and all nonprofit sub-verticals.

In this role you will work with AWS leadership to build our business strategy and product vision, oversee the development and management of solutions, and launch the product in the market segment. We are looking for someone with deep expertise in AWS services, SaaS product development, passion for NPO, and an established track record of launching cloud based products.

A successful candidate should be able to manage delivering products while simultaneously defining and driving strategic product planning for forward looking initiatives. We are looking for a broad and deep leader who will own and drive product management across a range of offerings important to NPOs. We are looking for experienced technical builder who is passionate about solving NPO customer problems, and has demonstrated success working backwards from NPO customer needs, translating them into disruptive, successful products that delight customers.

Key responsibilities:
  • Engage with nonprofit customer Executives through a variety of channels to define and prioritize technology gaps to create detailed product and solution definitions. Working backwards from NPO customer needs, translate them into disruptive, successful products that delight
  • Seek and incorporate customer feedback, brand feedback, behavioral measurements, and other data sources to craft better experiences and ensure we are building the right products over time
  • Architect, build, manage, and coordinate technical solutions with AWS engineering teams, NPO colleagues, and APN Partners
  • Coordinate across product, build, and service teams through use case development, feature definition, business model, prioritization, go-to-market (GTM) and adoption
  • Manage prioritization and trade-offs among customer experience, developers, schedule, performance, and cost
  • Make decisions around build versus buy to optimize time-to-market
  • Influence solution, service, and partner feature prioritization and builds to meet customer needs
  • Monitor project execution and ensuring that the project delivery is to the appropriate levels of quality and in line with its target date

  • 12+ years of product management experience across full product life-cycle (from concept through ‘Go to Market’ (GTM))
  • 10+ years of product management experience in the cloud computing
  • 5+ years of experience in developing technology products for NPO
  • 3+ years of experience with machine learning
  • Master’s degree from a top technical program
  • AWS certification as a Solutions Architect / Developer or Associate level or Cloud Practitioner
  • Successful track record managing product prioritization and trade-offs among customer experience, developers, schedule, performance, and cost
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Understanding of AWS and proficiency with web services technologies
  • A strong technical background with software engineering or cloud architecting
  • Entrepreneurial approach and demonstrated track record for delivering results
  • Experience managing complex digital products (preferably end customer facing), services, and operational components
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a high energy environment where strategic and tactical activities are expected to be driven in parallel
  • Demonstrated experience executing programs involving cross-functional teams
  • Experience coordinating product development cycles and software development schedules
  • Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role
