Job Specific Information: Applicants will be asked to select one of the following three choices when applying on Careers: Pre-Qualified Principal and Principal Internship, Pre-Qualified Principal only, or Principal Internship only. Applicants who do not select one will not be considered for any of the three options. MCPS Official Job DescriptionAll application materials are still due no later than February 1, 2021
Principal candidates and interns are selected using a multi-phase process which carefully considers the applicant's experience and readiness for a principalship. The first step includes a paper screening process of all the documents requested. Incomplete applications cannot be considered. The second phase is a multi-step interview process which includes job-embedded tasks and a panel interview. If applicants successfully complete the second phase, they will be entered on a list of pre-qualified principal candidates who are then eligible to apply to school principal vacancies, OR will become principal interns paired with principal developers.
Pre-qualified principal candidates who are selected to interview for specific school principal vacancies will participate in a community interview beginning in the Spring 2021. Selected finalists will then interview with the superintendent.
