Description

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) in Sierra Vista, AZ is seeking an experienced and qualified Database Administrator.

The Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation (NGSC) NATO Alliance Ground Support (AGS) Software Support team addresses all software maintenance activities for NATO AGS software within the NATO ISS contract scope. The Software Support team monitors software license status, software obsolescence, and security update information over the entire period of the contract. The team is responsible for meeting all performance and other requirements of this contract, to include, investigation of software problems, development of software modifications to resolve problems, configuration management of system software, integration of JCHAT software updates, and testing and documentation of software updates. The Software Support team will constantly review and analyze security patches and updates for commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software, operating systems, and firmware; integrate and test security updates; and deploy updates to the operational environment. The Software Support team will also review and analyze system software licenses, including all relevant licensing information such as server characteristics, supported processor cores, node types, number of users, etc. and provide an annual Software License Report (SLR). The SLR will provide the relevant licensing information, along with potential impacts of software obsolescence or upgrades and recommendations.

Responsibilities

Implements and maintains smooth operation and physical design of databases
Conducts performance tuning of indexes and databases in general
Reviews database design and integration of systems - Provides backup recovery and makes recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements - Maintains security and integrity controls - Formulates policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management, and monitors transaction activity and utilization - May develop stored procedures and/or triggers

Education and Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree with 6 years of related experience or Master's Degree with 4 years of related experience
Knowledge and expertise with MS Access, MySQL and Oracle
Experience in database administration, information technology, database architecture
Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a final US Government Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
Possesses a current IAM Level I Certification (Security+ CE)
Position prefers a candidate with a current Secret Clearance (or higher)
Experience with Unmanned Systems (Global Hawk, FireScout, Hunter)
Experience with ticketing systems (ITL metrics, SLAs, etc)
Experience with Tableau or similar data analysis tools
