What you’ll be doing.

The Microsoft Principal position consists of engineering, deployment / configuration / implementation, development, consulting, and technical leadership within the Verizon Professional Services (PS) Microsoft Unified Communications (UC) portfolio. Each engineer possesses expertise in designing and implementing complex and global Microsoft UC solutions, has the ability to deploy all roles within O365 / hybrid / Teams’ environments, deploys enterprise voice with various session border controller manufacturers, has proficiency with Microsoft-certified audio and video equipment, is an expert in all Microsoft communications and messaging protocols, and has a comprehensive knowledge of all associated network architecture and best practices.

The primary accountabilities associated with this position include:

  • Working directly with customers and maintaining relationships with key contacts, vendors, and internal teams to prepare low-level designs and documentation.
  • Participating directly as a lead engineer on project deployments.
  • Leading and facilitating other support engineers on projects.
  • Mentoring and developing junior engineers.
  • Evaluating and recommending new technologies.
  • Serving as primary deployment / implementation engineer for Verizon’s Unified Communications Microsoft portfolio.
  • Leading the global resource team in support of service deployment / implementation.
  • Working with customer, vendors, and internal teams to deploy designed solutions.
  • Preparing project low-level design and documentation.
  • Presenting solutions to clients and C-level resources (internal / external).
  • Participating directly as a lead engineer on all project deployments.
  • Acting as lead engineer and expert in Microsoft for all Verizon PS engineering resources.
  • Mentoring and developing junior engineers.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with clients and vendor partners.
  • Evaluating and recommending new technologies / best practices.
  • Maintaining technical certifications as required.

Where you'll be working:

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Microsoft MCSE-Voice / MS Teams certifications.
  • Experience planning, designing, and implementing / deploying complex and global Microsoft UC product lines.
  • Proven C-level presentation and communication experience.
  • Knowledge of all network and UC architecture related to Microsoft UC environments.
  • Experience designing and implementing complex and global Microsoft UC deployments.
  • Configuration and troubleshooting expertise in global Microsoft (Office 365 / Teams) solutions.
  • Experience deploying Microsoft Direct Routing / EV in cloud, hybrid, and dedicated environments.
  • Experience deploying Microsoft-certified audio and video equipment / room systems.
  • Experience with vendor and manufacturer-provided remote access and provisioning tools to support remote and onsite deployments.
  • Experience with all Microsoft-related communications and messaging protocols.
  • Willingness to work flexible work hours.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Master’s degree in Business or IT.
  • Five or more years of experience with a technology vendor or systems integrator selling, designing, and implementing Cisco UC systems and solutions.
  • Cisco and other vendor certifications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Expertise in deploying Exchange, SharePoint, and additional peripheral Microsoft server environments.
  • Expertise with related vendor video technologies (e.g., Tandberg, Cisco, Polycom).
  • Expertise integrating solutions with other vendor products (e.g., overhead paging systems, direct SIP Trunking to other IPPBX platforms).
  • Expertise in integration with Cisco environments via Microsoft.
  • Consulting experience.

For part-timers, your coverage will vary as you may be eligible for some of these benefits depending on your individual circumstances.

If you are hired into a Colorado work location, the compensation range for this position is between $134,000 and $248,000 based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
