Job Description

A Strategy Performance Consultant will provide leadership and facilitation for rate case information preparation, scorecard and strategic plan performance management, and coordination of employee communications strategies for the Enterprise Security service and Emergency Management. A Performance Consultant will lead teams to meet schedules in preparation of information for rate cases, rider filings, and other types of rate case data requests. Also assist with business strategy planning, performance management (scorecards, milestone tracking, process metrics, etc.) and process audit tracking, including identifying and follow-up of process improvements to address audit findings. Assist in the development and management of employee communications strategies, content development and scheduling of manager and employee communications to enhance employee understanding and engagement with Transmission strategies and performance. This position will focus primarily on process improvement and corrective action responsibilities.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Leads, coordinates, and facilitates teams in preparing information for rate case defense, rider filings, and data requests. Establishes and communicates schedule of activities for rate case information preparation within Transmission to match organization-wide rate case preparation deadlines.
  • Performance Management- Analyzes business area processes to identify opportunities for improvement. Gathers, analyzes, and manages Xcel Energy's processes providing a coherent view of our business's capabilities. Provides specific process improvement recommendations to increase productivity and performance. Drives process improvement projects to the successful implementation by: articulating key business issues, clarifying project objectives and linking to key business objectives and the company's overall strategic direction, understanding market, and internal needs, organizational capabilities and technology, performing gap analysis defining process requirements and key performance measures and measuring results. Manages monthly monitoring of business area dashboards. Validates data and reports results to internal stakeholders’ groups. Researches, analyzes, and prepares information for monthly business process reviews, quarterly leadership strategic sessions, annual year-end reports.
  • Manages monthly monitoring of business area scorecard. Validates data and reports results to internal stakeholder groups. Researches, analyzes, and prepares information for quarterly business area results presentations, annual yearend report to the board of directors, monthly board letters and weekly business area report.
  • CAP-Lead/facilitate Corrective Action Program. Facilitate problem identification and resolution. Maintain and log issues into a system that assigns tasks, tracks progress, provides notifications, and assists in remediating issues.
  • Audit Management- Provides expertise in the planning, directing, and performing of internal audit projects. Understands the business and leadership structure. Assesses organizational risk and regulatory compliance, examines the internal control structure, and evaluates efficiency and effectiveness of operations. Provides consultation services to management of specific issues associated with auditing of Company assets and accounting controls compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.


Preferred Requirements

  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • Obtained Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
  • Demonstrated experience in business process and continuous improvement

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $87,000 to $123,666 per year
