Job Description
Responsible for safety, quality, production and personnel issues for an assigned department/shift through direction and coordination of people and duties
Knows and follows all safety policies and procedures. Holds all crews accountable for working safely and ensures compliance with safety policies and procedures. Assists EHS Manager in investigations of incidents and near misses and conducts RCAs to determine corrective actions. Develops new SOPs if necessary to support safety initiatives and trains personnel against new SOPs.
Commitment, awareness and involvement pertaining to ISO (policy, standards, procedures, etc.) and food safety practices (GMPs, procedures, etc.) are requirements of all employees.
Reviews SIC boards with production employees.
Ensure all machines are running to standard by team; delegate and assign responsibilities as needed to run shift efficiently. Leverage opportunities to increase productivity and decrease waste.
Monitor all personnel for compliance with company policies and procedures. Complete and conduct all employee performance evaluations.
Coordinate training of all personnel by use of SOPs.
Responsible for keeping supplies in storeroom for crews.
Conduct weekly safety, 5S, and BRC audits.
Run condition audits by use of Process Lead Audit.
Assist as needed on trials. Work with customers, operators and product development.
Review production reports. Record and correct errors. Completes shift variance reports for managers on each shift.
Has a working knowledge of Axapta, Hawkeye, and Seka computer systems. Assist in troubleshooting and problem solving issues. Enter ER requests as needed.
Completes Root Cause Analysis with production crew for good corrective actions.
Communicates daily with managers and crews to discuss any issues/concerns. Serves as a liaison between hourly production personnel and manager, particularly on night shifts and weekends when managers are not on-site.
Motivates and retains critical personnel to meet and exceed internal company goals.
Assists Manager with developing and distributing machines schedules. Approves weekly timesheets for production personnel. Approves/denies vacation requests within company guidelines.
Participates in hiring and disciplinary actions with assistance and approval of manager and human resources.
Demonstrates appropriate attitude in all dealings with co workers and customers.
Other duties as assigned.

Education and / or Experience
Associates degree (A.A.) in or equivalent in management from two-year college or technical school in management. Five to ten years of manufacturing experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Supervisory experience preferred.
